Moved

Last Saturday believe it or not but we moved again. It seems we like to move once or twice a year. We didn't manage to get rid of the amount of stuff that we needed to but we're getting there........ slowly. On Sunday we went to church in Taber and then drove to Grandma's on Sunday. It was so nice to see her and Aunt Lorraine, she was here from Vancouver. Then we meandered over to see Becca at the Keeler farm. That was when Raven found her new love, dinosaurs. It was hard for her when it was time to leave. After visiting for a bit we headed back over to Fort Macleod. The only furniture left at our place was a single mattress that Raven and I shared. Mardy was demoted to the floor, we gave him three pillows and a blanket and he still complained the next day that he had a rotten sleep. We clean that place from top to bottom. Our landlord must have thought we work miracles because I don't think that place had ever been cleaned like that. It was apparent that the previous renter hadn't shampooed that carpets after leaving. Sick to think that we had been walking on that for so long. Well actually half way though Raven had a poop smearing incident that we needed to rent a shampooer for so at least the upstairs was nice for the last part. Mardy also let me use my most favorite cleaning tool in the entire world, oven cleaner. He hasn't let me use it since I accidentally poisoned myself with it 4 years ago while cleaning a shower in a small unventilated room. I was only sick for a few days. Again I don't think that the previous renter had ever cleaned the grease behind the stove or the sides of the stove. Thats when Mardy let me work my magic with the oven cleaner. Victory!
On Tuesday I had an appointment in Lethbridge and we needed to get our pictures taken for our Visa's. After getting our pictures done Mardy broke the news to me that Clarissa had called during my appointment to tell me that my uncle Ricky had been killed in a car accident 2:30 that morning. Smart of Mardy to wait until after my pictures. We went straight to Grandma's to give her a big hug. She's doing okay, my cousin might move in with her for a few months. She's thinking about moving into the lodge. I hope she does. She deserves some pampering. After seeing Grandma Mardy, Raven and I went to Emily's parents to see her two kids and Becca's two kids. I wish we could have spent more time there. Later that night we had lots of fun playing with Zee and her kids, Merriellen, Rob and Cheyenne, Clarissa and Stewart with their two kids. Lots of fun at the farm. We missed you Suzi, can't wait to see you in a few days!
Wednesday was none other than busy. July 1st, Canada Day or Raymond Day as some might call it. Lost of cousins to see at the parade. Grandpa Johnny was in the parade again on his horse holding the Alberta flag. After the parade we had our usual family dinner at the Welling church. After eating we needed to head out to Edmonton. Did I mention that not only do I hate moving, I hate driving for 6 hours straight. We got to see Auntie Lara that night and then we headed to our hotel. The next morning we had an interview, our final step in our visa applications. After that we met Auntie Lara at the Legislature so Raven could play in the water before another 6 hour drive home.
Today was Uncle Ricky's funeral. We had a nice grave side ceremony. The graveyard where Ricky was buried is right beside the Temple Hill race track. Motocross is in the middle of their races. During Ricky's funeral they stopped the racing and two motocross representatives attended. We all appreciated the quiet during that sad time.
Mardy, Raven and I are back in Taber. I have two more days here until I need to leave again and I plan to sit on my butt as much as possible, or sort through things and get stuff organized, either one. I'm really looking forward to England for many reasons but the one that is sticking out to me right now is because I'd really like to be settled somewhere again. For the most part for the rest of the summer I'll be one week in Fort Macleod and one week in Taber.

oh man - I thought we were the only ones who had a poop-smearing incident. I was embarrassed to say anything to anyone, so I'm glad you brought it up first! Gross!

Well its actually worse than that. When Mardy was woken up from his nap by Raven she started throwing up lots of brown smelly stuff. He realized what it was when he saw poop smeared everywhere. Being a good husband as he is he had it all cleaned up before I got home from work.

Wow that last comment is really really disgusting. Your descriptions of cleaning reminded me of when we cleaned that old house in Edmonton with Julianne. When we scrubbed the walls we discovered they were white not brown after all. So gross. But I liked living there. :) When do you get your visas?
