November

This is what November looks like on the beach! I love it here. This beach is actually a 60 second drive from Raven's school. We are going to have lots of fun when the weather is nice.

Mardy in Movember. Actually he is dressed up because he was part of a murder mystery dinner, he was Morimardy (Professor Moriarty). Mardy is also participating in Movember. He's done it for the past few years but this year is special because he has a friend undergoing treatment for prostate cancer.

I have an entire series of these pictures of Raven teaching the missionaries how to pose. Funny kid.

Mardy and I also celebrated our 7th anniversary this month. Yes our anniversary falls in November so Mardy will always have a moustache for our anniversary but what can I say, its for a good cause. Mardy and I went to Portsmouth for that weekend. We left Raven with our friends Matt and Hannah. They took Raven swimming and Raven was telling everyone, "they aren't my real parents, they are just borrowing me". Raven keeps talking about it and can't wait for another sleepover.

Love this little girl

Halloween 2011

Raven was so excited to have a fondue party with Hannah. She of course was a little confused and thought a fondue party was a pampering party with face masks. So for our girls night in we ate chocolate fondue, soaked our feet, had a face mask and watched Barbie Princess Charm school. Raven loved it!

A few Sunday's ago was the primary presentation. I put Raven's hair in rags the night before and she had the curliest hair for the presentation. She got to hold up a picture for the presentation and she even bore her testimony.

For Halloween Mardy was so excited to be King Leonidas. He had the perfect costume that he used in the roadshow. He was almost done getting ready when Raven sees him and has a massive tantrum, she wanted him to be a cop like last year. There was no way we could convince her otherwise so we all had the same costumes as last year just for her.

Johnny in England

Ya, I know he was here awhile ago, I 'm a little behind on the blogging but in my defence I did put up a lot of pictures on Facebook. Anyway , we had a lot of fun while he was here. We were so busy every day I was getting pretty tired and pretty much asleep by 9 every night. His first day here he missed his bus so we had to wait a little longer for him. It turned out that he got sick on the bus and had a terrible ride. That afternoon we went for a nice little walk along the beach and then went to a baptism where he met a lot of our friends.

The next day we spent the morning at home so I could get Raven off to school. While Raven was at school I took my dad to Christchurch harbour and to see the 900 year old Priory. While I picked up Raven from school and took her to french class my dad wandered around Bournemouth. He got a little lost so after class Raven and I went to find him. I said a little prayer that we would find him because I had no idea where he was and after going around a traffic circle for the second time I looked up and there he was. Prayer answered!

The third day my dad and I headed out in the morning on an open top double decker bus to Swanage. Chilly, but nice! At Swanage my dad spent a lot of time watching the steam train. Finally I was able to get him away from there with a promise that we would come back later. So we had fish and chips by the beach. what happens when you mix food with beach? Birds! True to papa's nature he had to feed the animals no matter what they be. The birds fell in love with him and got so comfortable that one of them even flew right up to him and grabbed a piece of fish that he had up to his mouth. I, true to myself, laughed at him and told him it served him right. After fish and chips we went to the pier and as luck would have it the marines were there practicing with their landing craft. We watched them until they sailed off. Finally it was our turn on the steam train. We had our tickets to Corfe. As luck would have it again, my dad was talking to a few older fellows, one was the conductor who thought we would like a little ride in the engine. That is one of the picture up there. I was just as excited as my dad because i've never had a chance to ride in an engine of a train and I know I only got to because of my dad. So we went for a little ride in the engine. The coal was burnig so hot I had to take off my jacket. When we got to Corfe we had a quick non pay look at the castle and then explored the village a little bit. It was about time for Mardy to pick us up so we found a little clearing and waited for Mardy. When Mardy got there we drove to Lulworth Castle and then to Durdle door because durdle door is one of my favourite places and I have to take everyone there.

The next day my dad and I took a train to a small village called Wool and then we took at taxi to a small military community to see the tank museum. We spent the entire day there and looked at every one of the three hundred tanks. When we were waiting for Mardy to pick us up my dad wanted to see a horse stable that we passed on the way it. He asked the people running it all sorts of questions and really enjoyed seeing all the big beautiful animals.

Next day was Tangmere. Tangmere is an aviation museum. This is where a lot of the WWII action happened. There was a lot of history to read about but I didn't have the chance because Raven and Mardy were with us that day and Raven got a little bored quickly. After Tangmere we went to Portsmouth and saw the historic dock yard. They have two ships that are about two hundred years old and a few brand new warships.

The next day we went to London and spent a lot of the day at the Imperial War Museum. We couldn't take Raven to a lot of the exhibits so my dad went on his own exploring and Mardy and I tried to keep Raven from being too bored. We also stopped by Big Ben, West Minster Abby and the Tower of London. I think next time he comes we'll have to spend more time there.
