Spain

Mallorca is a little Spanish Island right in the Mediterranean sea. I think I'm a little spoiled because we've been to the Med three times since we've moved here. We decide to go to Mallorca basically because I looked for the cheapest flights I could find for that week and Mallorca it was. Our Villa was in a tiny tourist town and it was off season so it was basically empty, it was wonderful.

We found the cliffs close to our villa. They were gorgeous and had such gorgeous plants growing all around.

This is the next beach over from ours. We spent a day here and encountered our first jellyfish of the season.

This is our local beach! We had a lot of fun there and yes I took off my hoodie at one point and even got a tan.

Raven was helping me shop for our trip. She found some water paints and put them in the cart. They were cheap so I thought why not. As we were packing I thought maybe it would be fun for her to have her water colours on the trip so I packed some paper as well. Silly me, I didn't read the packaging and when I got them out for Raven to play with she says to me "mommy can you paint my face?" That is when I realised I was wrong. So if you look closely you can see that she has a butterfly painted on her face. Such a good idea, I think we will have to get more face paints because it turned out to be really fun.

Mardy and Lara went out to see the sunrise one morning.

This tree looks very old. Raven and I think that fairies live there.

The busiest day on the beach. Actually this could have been one of the beaches in Cala d'Or which was just a short walk away.

More of the lovely cliffs by our place. We even got to watch some Dolphins at Sunset one day. It was amazing!

I think maybe I went a little too close to the edge. This picture is freaking me out.

Ummm, I'm getting in trouble for touching a jellyfish.
Just before this picture was taken I was walking around in the water up past my ankles. True story. I may have been looking for jellyfish.....

The beach at Porto Cristo.

See this must be a famous statue because everywhere I go she is there!!!

The Harbour at Porto Cristo. There is no way that I would want to go out to sea in one of those boats.

This is the reason why we went to Porto Cristo. Cuevas del drach. The Dragon Caves. These caves are a masterpiece of God and Man combined. The beauty of the stalagmites and the stalactites in this unique subterranean landscape is awe inspiring. The lighting in the caves is a masterpiece in of itself. It highlights the caves most beautiful parts. And then...you come upon this beautiful subterranean lake and you are seated in an amphitheatre. Once everyone has seated the lights go out and you are in complete darkness. Then you hear a small orchestra on a boat and as the boat emerges you can see it is trimmed with tiny lights. As the orchestra floats by on the boat the orchestra plays "Great Duchess of Toscana", "Alborada" and "Study in E major" in a concert unchanged in over 50 years.

Raven loves her aunty Lara!

Mardy and Raven in front of the Palma Cathedral.

Oh this is a fond memory. I believe this was the last time I was actually warm.

Having fun on the streets of Palma on Easter Sunday. I think we missed all of the Easter Celebrations because I thought we would have at least seen something.

She is such a good little motorbike ridder. I think I was about her age when i started....okay I think I was a little older.

Mardy in his speedo.

Sometimes the sea breeze is a little cold, so what.

Raven and I found this walkway down to the water from the cliffs. They kind of freaked me out a little bit.

Aunty Lara by the cliffs.
